OK, I admit it. Rob Page, CEO of Zope Corporation officially coined me a phone weenie a number of weeks ago. He’s right. Of course, he also directly benefits from that feature in me, since I am the primary Asterisk PBX administrator at Zope Corp.

    Thanks for a very interesting entry, glad to see someone else appreciates gtalk2voip...

    They have an app for using it on mobiles too called TalkoNaut.

    Btw, in the Gtalk area, have you come across Truphone?

    Currently it works (in Europe at least) on certain of Nokia's E- N-series mobiles.. yes, sounds limited, but I have a feeling we'll see some interesting things coming out of Truphone shortly.

    Gerry, I had not heard of Truphone, thanks for the pointer. The fact that they support SIP natively, and use Asterisk on the back-end is very cool, and I'm sure that it will have some life soon (if the Telcos don't kill them in some way).

    At the moment, I'm a Sprint guy with a Treo 700p, so it might be a while before Truphone supports me, but I'd be an early adopter when it's available, I'm sure :-)

    Well, I definitely do remote Asterisk administration for friends, so I'd be delighted to do it for you too, if you can bring yourself to giving me ssh access and root access on that box ;-)

    As for Twitter, I never heard of it, and I'm reading up on it now. :-)
