    That's really interesting. Do they sing or speak their writings?

    They sing. Sometimes solo (the others just tap their feet along with the crowd), sometimes they play together, harmonies, or accompanyment, etc.

    It's rare that they deliver the same quality experience that the "famous groups" do with the same song, but there is something about the rawness of hearing the person who birthed the song doing it, that makes it special nonetheless.

    Sounds like you had a great time! How "wonderful" of Lois to donate a couple of books for the boys in Iraq. We'll look forward to visiting Joe's Pub sometime in a future visit!
